Veidekke, The International Federation of Building and Wood Workers, The Norwegian United Federation of Trade Unions and The Norwegian Union of General Workers have signed an international framework agreement with the aim to secure trade union and social rights of employees working on Veidekke’s projects.

The agreement is based on a mutual desire and commitment to ensure and further develop respect for human rights as well as trade union rights built up through a number of work related agreements. It is based on the rights defined in:

  • The UN’s Declaration of Human Rights at Work
  • The ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
  • The OECD guidelines on Multinational Companies

The parties commit themselves to contribute to achieving continuous improvements within the areas of working conditions, health and safety standards and environmental performance on Veidekke’s projects worldwide. The parties have a common and mutual responsibility to achieve these goals through active and constructive cooperation between union representatives and company management.
