– This is an exciting project with extensive interior upgrades of the three iconic buildings Høyblokka, Glassbygget and Mellombygget. Rehabilitation significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions rather than building new, so this will be good for both the environment and the new tenants who will move in. We thank OBOS so much for the assignment and the good cooperation we have had during the development phase, says Department Manager Rune Andersstuen at Veidekke Bygg Oslo.
OBOS has just moved out of its old head office at Hammersborg Torg to Construction City at Ulven. Veidekke and OBOS have jointly developed the old head office to meet today's qualities and satisfy the requirements of new tenants.
The project includes interior rehabilitation of approximately 17,500 m2 of building stock divided into two office buildings of twelve and four floors respectively, a reception building and shared basements on three levels. After completion, the premises will have reduced energy consumption and new technical facilities. There will be modern and upgraded office space, meeting room facilities, a canteen, a training room and changing rooms. In addition, a large underground parking garage will be rehabilitated and new bicycle parking will be established.
Construction work will begin immediately with planned handover in the second and third quarters of 2026. The contract is included in Veidekke's order book for Q3 2025.
