“Sigtuna Municipality has high ambitions for sustainable urban development. With our partners, we are proud to help ensure safe, high-quality housing for seniors. With Visthuset, we are also consolidating our long-term presence in the Sigtuna stadsängar area, which aims to be Sweden's most sustainable district,” says Michael Björklund, CEO of Bonava Sweden.
To achieve the best design possible, Bonava and Veidekke have developed the project together from a very early stage. The assignment includes a 91 apartment newbuild with a glazed courtyard and such common areas as a storage room, bicycle room, garage and outdoor parking. The building will be constructed in line with requirements for Miljöbyggnad 4.0 level Silver certification and targets a climate impact reduction of 20% below the reference value for apartment buildings.
“We appreciate Bonava’s confidence and look forward to continuing our rewarding cooperation. The ability to develop projects in collaboration with customers is a great strength. Our organisation has extensive experience in building homes to high standards, and I am confident that we will deliver top-notch care homes together,” says Mattias Uppsäll, project manager at Veidekke Bygg Öst.
The Sigtuna stadsängar area is a new, modern district with high sustainability goals, located north of Sigtuna’s old city center. Here, townhouses, single homes and rental apartments are being built within walking distance of Lake Mälaren. In addition to homes, the area includes schools, leisure, health and care facilities, retail and grocery stores.
The contract is included in the Q4 2025 order book.
