“We have carried out a successful pre-project phase with Nortura since this summer, and we are very pleased to have reached an agreement on yet another construction project for Nortura. This is a well-developed and solid project that will create ripple effects and mean a lot to many,” says Stein Arne Bjørgen, Acting District Manager at Veidekke Bygg Innlandet.
The project includes the construction of two production buildings for meat processing, measuring approximately 1,200 m² and 500 m² respectively. In addition, Veidekke will carry out remodeling work on existing structures and build two rooms totaling around 100 m² for fire-safe charging of electric autonomous trucks.
“At Nortura, we are consolidating processing operations on several locations to strengthen competitiveness while ensuring capacity to handle livestock from across the country. At Rudshøgda, we will invest around NOK 270 million over the next year to secure jobs, implement new technology and automate operations. This will enable more efficient production and ensure a good working environment for our employees,” says Ingrid Ulvolden, Plant Manager at Nortura.
Construction work has already commenced, with completion scheduled for January 2027.
The contract will be included in Veidekke’s order backlog for the fourth quarter of 2025.
