“This is a huge and important project for a lot of people, locally, nationally and internationally, and it is important for us at Veidekke. We are therefore very proud of the good partnership we have had during the development phase where we have arrived at the functions, solutions and qualities that now allow us to enter into a contract. We want to thank KONGSBERG for the confidence shown in us and are looking forward to extending the good partnership into the construction phase,” says Group Chief Executive Jimmy Bengtsson with Veidekke.

The building in Kongsberg Technology Park will have a total area of 65,000 m2 across eight floors and will accommodate approximately 2,300 workplaces. Here, technology, innovation, administration and IT for one of the country’s most important developer environments for advanced technology will be gathered under one roof. The project has been developed in a partnership between KONGSBERG, Veidekke, architects, subcontractors and other advisors since November 2024.

“This project marks an important milestone for KONGSBERG in its efforts to realise our growth ambitions. With the establishment of a modern and sustainable facility, we are ensuring further technological development and innovation in the defense sector. We appreciate the good partnership with Veidekke, and are looking forward to successful implementation and occupation,” says Frode Bakken, Vice President Facility with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.

Utsikten will be an advanced, future-oriented and sustainable building that will be certified in accordance with the BREEAM Excellent environmental standard and meet the requirements of the EU taxonomy and energy class A. Energy-efficient technical facilities and sustainable energy solutions will provide significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions both in the construction and operation phase. Low-carbon concrete in classes extreme and A will be used in the load-bearing system, and the construction project will be carried out fossil-free.

The project is being executed out by Veidekke Bygg in Buskerud, Vestfold and Telemark. Groundworks are already well underway, and the building is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2028.

The contract is included in Veidekke’s order book for the second quarter of 2025.
