Veidekke signed E18 contract in Østfold

Today Veidekke Entreprenør AS has signed a contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to build the first stage of a total of two stages on the Melleby - Momarken stretch. The contract comprises the Momarken - Homstvedt stretch, and the value of the contract is NOK 268 million excluding VAT.

The contract Veidekke Entreprenør has entered into with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration includes the building of a E18 motorway with a passing lane in both directions (4 lanes) between Laugslet (Momarken) and Homstvedt in the municipalities of Trøgstad and Eidsberg in Østfold county. The total length of the stretch is 3,900 metres. The contract also includes a bridge, three flyovers and two culverts and a new water and sanitation facility for Eidsberg municipality. The contract comprises roughly half of the E18 Melleby - Momarken road works. The existing E18 will become part of the system of local roads, but will be linked to the new E18.

The stretch is a part of the E18 Ørje-Vinterbro project through Østfold and Akershus counties. From the Swedish border to Momarken there will be a two-lane motorway with passing lanes, and from Momarken to Vinterbro there will be a four-lane motorway with a central reserve.

Work starts at the turn of the year, and is to be completed in October 2013.
