Veidekke to build Færder upper secondary school in Tønsberg

The Interaksjon Færder ANS collaboration, in which Veidekke is a participant, has been commissioned by Vestfold County Municipality to build the new Færder upper secondary school. Veidekke's share of the contract is NOK 230 million excluding VAT.

 

In addition to Veidekke Entreprenør AS, other participants in the collaboration are Bravida Norge AS, Oras AS, White Arkitekter AB, Sweco Norge AS and Norconsult AS. The total value of the Interaksjon Færder contract is NOK 380 million excluding VAT.


The construction project is organized according to the interaction principle, which was used when the county municipality built the Thor Heyerdahl upper secondary school in Larvik three years ago.


The new school building will be built on the Teie site in Tønsberg, and will have a total floor space of 15,000 sqm., and will include a gymnasium and premises for teaching technology and industrial manufacture, design and handicraft, technical and general subjects (TAF), electronics and building and construction technology. The school currently has 740 pupils and 150 employees in two school buildings.


Work has started, and the new school will be ready for the start of the school term in the autumn of 2014.
