Veidekke to build more at Tjuvholmen in Oslo

Veidekke Entreprenør has agreed on yet another building contract with Tjuvholmen Utvikling AS. The building will include homes and commercial premises, and the value of the contract is NOK 90 million excluding VAT. Since 2005 Veidekke has taken on building contracts at Tjuvholmen for more than NOK 1 billion excluding VAT.

Veidekkes work at the water's edge at Tjuvholmen started in 2005 with extensive foundation work and the construction of a parking cellar. The next assignment was the excavation and casting of walls for the canal that runs through the area. Thereafter there was a nine-storey office and commercial building, then two eight- and nine-storey buildings that are currently under construction. Here there will be commercial premises on the ground and first floors and flats in the remainder.

The new contract is a turnkey contract to build an eleven-storey building. This building will also have commercial premises on the ground and first floors and flats in the remainder. The building will be built of in situ concrete with brick façades. Work starts in the middle of March, and is to be completed in October 2013.
