Veidekke to build tallest building in Helsingborg

Veidekke Entreprenad has won a contract from the municipal property company AB Helsingborgshem to build a 22 storey block of 121 flats. The building will be called 'Höjdpunkten' and at 66 metres it will be the tallest in Helsingborg. The value of the contract is NOK 110 million excluding VAT.

As well as being Helsingborg's tallest, it will be the tallest building Veidekke has built in Sweden. "We have chosen a prefabricated concrete structure for a number of reasons. Partly to ensure an efficient construction process, which will enable us to satisfy the strict requirements concerning a tight and energy friendly building, and partly to make the building site safer," says Works Manager Stefan Wegner of Veidekke Bygg Syd.

Helsingborg's new landmark will be located in the district of Närlunda. 102 two and three room flats will be built, while the remaining 19 will be student flats located in their own annex. An underground garage facility will also be built, as well as three shop premises and a health clinic at ground level. The project will be completed in early 2014.
