The Zinko project comprises the transformation of approximately 15,700 square metres of office space and is expected to welcome its first tenants in late 2025. Arcona has been contributing to Genesta's project, which involves Hornsgatan 122–130, since 2021.
In the project’s previous phases, Arcona helped identify alternatives for the property’s development, analyse technical conditions, make calculations, and plan execution. The new contract includes the actual refurbishment phase, which involves extensive modernisation with a focus on sustainability, aesthetics and technology. The property will be certified in accordance with the BREEAM In-Use standard, aiming to achieve the highest rating, Outstanding.
“Arcona is proud to have been entrusted by Genesta with the completion of the Zinko project, which preserves and protects period architectural features while also creating a state of the art, sustainable and attractive hub for both daytime and evening activities. Our solid, long-standing relationship with Genesta has been pivotal for the project's success to date,” says Peter Kihlman at Arcona.
Also included in the contract are technology upgrades to all five buildings included in the project, and the construction of two additional floors to Hornsgatan 124. As well as providing office space – and a rooftop terrace for tenants – the Zinko quarter will encourage a bustling city environment, with space for shops, a fitness centre and restaurants at street level.
The contract is included in the Q2 2024 order book.
